Building Culturally Responsive Clinicians, One Hour at a Time
Multicultural Clinical Supervision for LGPCs in Maryland
The Road to Becoming a Therapist Is About More Than Just Collecting Hours
As you work toward your 3,000 clinical hours, supervision can feel like another box to check. But in a field marked by high burnout, this phase becomes the foundation for a sustainable career. At Helmly Wellness, supervision goes beyond the basics—shaping an authentic, professional identity that's built to last.
Clinical Supervision Sessions to Build Your Confidence
Supervision sessions are held virtually for LGPCs working to gain licensure in the state of Maryland, and offer a balance of teaching, case consultation, and reflective discussion.
Together we will:
Review your current cases and discuss interventions and methodology.
Strengthen your clinical judgment and confidence with ongoing feedback.
Explore inclusive and multicultural approaches that create better client outcomes.
Identify your growth edges and celebrate progress as you work toward licensure.
Meet Your Supervisor
Korean American therapist and licensed clinical supervisor, Minjee is also the founder of Helmly Wellness, a therapy practice in Maryland specializing in counseling for ambitious, high-achieving women. Minjee blends her background in psychodynamic, emotion-focused, and DBT modalities with a deep commitment to culturally informed care. Her supervision style is warm, collaborative, and growth-oriented—designed to help fellow clinicians build sustainable, fulfilling careers in mental health.
What Makes Our Approach to Supervision Different
Multicultural Focus
Build confidence in caring for clients from diverse backgrounds through inclusive, culturally attuned practice.
Business Mentorship
Gain real-world guidance on building a sustainable, values-driven practice from a supervisor with both clinical expertise and an MBA.
Reflection & Self-Awareness
Develop the insight and resilience needed to quiet imposter syndrome and prevent burnout.
Multicultural Care Matters Now More Than Ever
Therapists are often undertrained in working with clients of color and immigrant communities. In fact, about 85% of mental health professionals identify as White, while only 3.6% are Hispanic, 2.7% are Black, 1.7% are Asian/Pacific Islander, and fewer than 1% are Native American.* All the while our communities of color are largely underserved.
Research consistently shows that therapy outcomes improve when clinicians develop greater cultural awareness and responsiveness. My goal is to help you close that gap—so you can offer inclusive, culturally attuned care that truly meets your clients where they are.
We Also Offer Business Mentorship for Practice Founders
In addition to traditional supervision, Minjee also offers additional mentorship on the business side of private practice—drawing from her experience as both a clinician and an MBA candidate at Georgetown University. From building a caseload to navigating marketing and management, you’ll gain coaching and insights to grow your career.
